    Jotul Maine is the manufacturer who distribute their products only to dealers. However, I have found my local dealers are not equipped to answer technical questions (they are salespeople) and as the instruction manual provided with these products is SO vague when it comes to replacing parts there really should be a way to contact someone who can provide advise. Interestingly, I found no videos online for the Jotul GI 450DV II Katahdin gas insert we have but did learn that model had a recall on it but no one ever notified me of the recall. The blower unit on our insert stopped working so I ordered a new unit through our local dealer. When it arrived I asked him how it should be installed and he said "I don't know, you ordered the part". These units (and I mean in general) are like erector kits but when there is a problem you are forced to call a dealer who will find a technician to help because Jotul does not provide any useful or relevant repair information. When I contacted Jotul directly I was greeted by a recorded message stating they give preference to calls from dealers. I have yet to receive a call back on my question. Before you buy a Jotul or similar product understand that once something needs replacing or adjusting you have no options other than to pay for a technician from your dealer to make the repair. Oh...I paid $200+ dollars for the replacement blower unit which is about $150 more than it was worth...thanks Jotul.

    I too have run into similar problems as Christopher and must admit that Jotuls response to customers requests for simple information STINKS! and I will NEVER buy another stove or product from them! I have two LPG Allagash stoves in my home and was trying to find some information about a non vented Jotul 3 Classic. Trying to get by the receptionist was like trying to get into Fort Knox, she kept telling me "look on the internet, look on the internet". I continued to request the technical department and she relented and connected me to Mark or rather Marks answering machine. The machine told me that they did not deal directly with consumers and I had to contact my dealer but maybe they would return my phone call if they had the time. I added my email address and when Mark finally returned my call to my message machine his message was garbled and could not be understood but he did add that he did not write down my internet address so as a result, no email. I left the email address on his message machine, there was no way that he could not access this message, he is a liar and the receptionist is the same! This company wants us to buy their overpriced products but offers very little in return to the consumer. They are HORRIBLE, DO NOT BUY A JOTUL! I only wish I had bought two Vermont Casting Stoves when I built this house!
